PiPER is a lightweight robotic arm with six integrated joint motors for smooth, precise control. Weighing just 4.2kg, it easily handles a 1.5kg payload and is made from durable yet lightweight materials for versatile use across various environments. Now with ClawArm natural language control — describe your task, and PiPER executes it.
Lightweight and Stable Payload
PiPER is compact yet powerful, supporting a stable 1.5 kg payload while maintaining agility in motion. At just 4.2 kg, it's easy to transport between classrooms, labs, or field sites. The aluminium alloy and polymer construction provides durability without adding unnecessary weight.
Precision Control
Equipped with advanced joint motors and path planning, PiPER delivers precise and smooth operation with ±0.1 mm repeatability, perfect for detailed manipulation tasks. Six integrated joint motors provide ultra-smooth movement with minimal backlash.
Harsh Environment Adaptability
Designed to operate in extreme conditions ranging from -20°C to 50°C, PiPER performs reliably in tough environments where most research arms would fail. This makes it ideal for outdoor robotics, agricultural automation, and industrial R&D in demanding conditions.
Intuitive User Interface
PiPER features a modern tablet-based interface leveraging a powerful control system, enabling users to effortlessly build and control their applications. Combined with ClawArm's natural language control, operating PiPER is as simple as describing what you want.
Open Source Support
PiPER can be controlled via Python API and supports both ROS1 and ROS2, offering flexibility for developers and ensuring smooth integration across a variety of projects. Full CAN, HTTP, and TCP communication protocols available.
ClawArm Integration — Natural Language Control
ClawArm is an open-source AI-powered control system built on OpenClaw that lets you control PiPER by simply describing what you want in plain English. No manual joint calculations, no coordinate math. Two control modes available:
- Skill Mode: AI generates complete Python control scripts for complex, multi-step sequences
- Plugin Mode: Real-time interactive tools (arm_move, arm_status, arm_stop) for step-by-step control
Every command passes through a multi-layer safety system with joint limits, workspace boundaries, and velocity caps.
